Apart from the notion of drawing Chameleon Potato to look like a carrot, this is wonderful and really made me laugh.
worldofagwuworldofagwu on May 3rd, 2008 09:19 am (UTC)
thanks martin - thass goob to hear - yr chameleon potato = a carrot is a better "proper" joke - but the idea of adding ears & antennae to a spud is the sort of thing that makes life worthwhile for me ( sadly )
lairdofdarkness: Robin logolairdofdarkness on May 2nd, 2008 12:51 pm (UTC)
See I would buy that
I may well start a campaign to urge you to do more comics

Although this is the funniest thing ever associated with the legion of superheroes, it is also the first ever funny thing associated with them, AFAIK, so I should really say that it is also as funny as, if not more so than, a week's TV commentary by you, which is really quite funny, and nice.

Bet you can't do Timber Wolf.

Re: lsp
- thank you, erk - james kolchaka's superf*ckersv ( at least partly based on the LSH ) = pretty funny imo

& i remember thinking this 'un was quite funny at the time, tho it might not have aged well:

i will take on yr timber wolf challenge once i buy some more potatoes
Calamity James: Excellent!orwellian_trash on May 2nd, 2008 03:29 pm (UTC)
I like this.
worldofagwuworldofagwu on May 3rd, 2008 12:49 pm (UTC)
- ta - have you heard they're remaking "sex lives of the potato men" with sontarans...?
Calamity James: Excellent!orwellian_trash on May 3rd, 2008 02:54 pm (UTC)
Oh really? Will it have Johnny Vegas and Mackenzie Crook in full prosthetic makeup? The sight of two Laurel & Hardy proportioned Sontarans would be worth the admission price alone.
worldofagwuworldofagwu on May 3rd, 2008 03:13 pm (UTC)
- oh no - mackenzie grook as a sontaran doesn't really work, does it? - I DIDN'T THINK IT THROUGH...!

i'm not too keen on the modern look of the sontarans ( the sculpted musculature on their armour looks esp dodgy imo ) - i think the pertwee era one ( the time warrior? ) was much more menacing
Calamity James: Excellent!orwellian_trash on May 3rd, 2008 03:21 pm (UTC)
The big blue clunky battle armour does look as though it was designed explicitly with action-figure toys in mind, but I can forgive this as their heads are marvellous. Their little faces allow for a lovely set of expressions to shine through the makeup and their voices are so articulate. Taking on the world with RP.

Brilliant! Triplicate Potato is my favorite.
worldofagwuworldofagwu on May 3rd, 2008 12:46 pm (UTC)
- thank you - i wonder if some fan fiction, "the wedding of triplicate potato & bouncing potato", wld be in order...?
What's in a name?museofspeed on May 3rd, 2008 02:24 pm (UTC)
That would be a spudtacular event.
mittelstadtmittelstadt on May 2nd, 2008 07:21 pm (UTC)
Who are the villains? The League of Rotten Potatoes?
This is great. You can't top this. Actually you could. Sour cream, butter, bacon bits....
worldofagwuworldofagwu on May 3rd, 2008 02:42 pm (UTC)
ta mike - their villains include: nemesis potato, darkspud, the tater trapper & the fatal five potatoes

colin_fawcett on May 6th, 2008 06:54 pm (UTC)
I've been trapped in the phantom zone since 1988 so it great to see your still doing top notch stuff.
The LSP should be made from Smash though.
worldofagwuworldofagwu on May 6th, 2008 08:27 pm (UTC)

colin_fawcett on May 6th, 2008 09:10 pm (UTC)
Ta. It's nice to be carried by greater talents so I'm enjoying WKRR very much.
That picture of John Torode could change my life!
worldofagwuworldofagwu on May 7th, 2008 04:40 am (UTC)
WKRR: not being carried - holding yr end up v.well

"john torode has no superhuman powers - in fact, due to the size of his head, his mobility is limited and he must rely on his bearers - he does possess great leadership capacity, however."

for more of the same plse see the entry for john "the toad" torode in the official handbook of the w.o.agwu universe:

This was great!

I found a link to your Legion of Super-Spuds by way of Newsarama's Blog... but, they didn't show the Legion of Subs. That nearly made me double over (and hit my head on my desk) laughing.
worldofagwuworldofagwu on May 7th, 2008 04:55 am (UTC)
thank you - & ta for saying how you found me - i'm always curious ( - i got a goupla nice plugs in the world of comics blogs - ppl have been very kind )
